Beautifully renovated 16th Century Barn with spectacular views

4 large, comfortable bedrooms which are all ensuite

The accommodation consists of 2 twin bedded rooms, both situated on the ground floor and one which has a wet room. A large double bedroom is also on the ground floor and there is a family room (double and 2 single beds) on the first floor.

Living and dining areas are comfortably furnished with access to Freeview digital TV and we are WiFi connected.

There is a lovely garden and patio seating area.

A separate utility contains washing machine and dryer and a freezer

Pets are welcome

Plenty of safe off road parking

When designing the barn we incorporated many energy efficient features and have rain water harvesting and solar water heating. Old Rectory Barn has been awarded Green Dragon Environmental Accreditation.

In order to help guests explore the local area which has a fascinating history and includes the The Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal and the Clydach Gorge we have provided a collection of walks to and from the barn. We also have information packs of local cycle routes and are close to a new SUSTRANS route

There is a drying room for outdoor gear and secure storage for cycles etc.

Apart from walking and cycling other activities in the area include caving, horse riding, paragliding, golfing and canoeing.

We are very close to the Brecon and Monmouthshire Canal and good fishing rivers including the Usk and there are other fishing facilities nearby.

A number of interesting historic and market towns are all just a few miles away including Abergavenny, Crickhowell, Monmouth and Hay on Wye.
Cardiff, the capital of Wales, is only an hour away by car but there is also a rail link.
You can be at the seaside at The Gower Peninsula in one and a half hours.
Alternatively explore the World Heritage site of Blaenafon which is only 4 miles away.

Our prices are inclusive of all heating and electricity and include linen and towels. A cot and high chair are available on request.

We have Freeview TV and WiFi.

Our nearest village is Gilwern which has a small Spar shop and 4 pubs some of which serve food. There is also an excellent fish and chip shop!

If you like really good food then within a few miles there is an excellent choice including the 2007 and 2008 Wales Restaurants of the Year and the famous Bear Hotel in Crickhowell. Monmouthshire was voted as the 2008 UK Food Destination.
