Brecknock Museum and Art Gallery
This expanding cultural centre is home to Brecon's principal local history and art collections.
Housed in the impressive, Grade II* listed Brecknock Shire Hall and Assize Court buildings, Brecknock Museum and Art Gallery has exhibitions from local prehistory to the Dark Ages, Brecknockshire town and country life, natural history, art and historical objects.
Following a successful Heritage Lottery Fund bid, a major programme of restoration and refurbishment is underway. The project will include the creation of a new public library, café, shop, sculpture garden and car park.
